SelectaDNA are proud to announce their new collaboration to reduce rural crime in association with The CLA.
The Country Landowners Association is a membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales. Their mission is to champion, protect and enhance the rural community by promoting innovative ideas to a national audience and provide practical support to their members.
The association with CLA will allow all members to receive a unique discount opportunity across a selection of SelectaDNA forensic marking products. With the cost of rural crime increasing by 22.1% between 2021-2022 (source: NFU Mutual), protecting rural businesses and their valuable equipment is now more important than ever.
Criminals often target isolated areas and hard-to-protect buildings looking for items which are easy to sell on, such as tools, specialist equipment, and gardening and agricultural machinery. SelectaDNA has been proven to reduce rural crime, in some cases by up to 100% in police trials, and enables police to link criminals to crime scenes and secure convictions. The unique DNA coding technology and microdots provide instant proof of ownership, and the high security warning labels alert criminals that property is protected.
Louis Bennett, Business Development Manager for Selectamark, said: “Launching this partnership with The CLA, who support the interest of 28,000 members from family farms and estates to rural businesses, marks a great step in helping protect them against rural crime.
“Members will be able to access our products at a discounted rate, and we will work with them to explain the benefits of forensic marking and how best to use it in order to deter theft from their properties.
“We look forward to growing this partnership and creating areas of rural communities less attractive to criminal groups.”
