1,000 UK Churches Now Protected with SelectaDNA Through Trinitas Partnership

1,000 UK Churches Now Protected with SelectaDNA Through Trinitas Partnership

One thousand churches across the UK have now been protected with SelectaDNA forensic marking technology through a partnership with Trinitas Church Insurance. St Michael and All Angels Church in Marden has been confirmed as the 1,000th church to be protected - an important milestone in helping deter church metal theft and safeguard historic buildings.

Rev. Nicky Harvey of St Michael and All Angels Church has commented “Now the church is protected with SelectaDNA it gives us peace of mind that our lead roof and other metal works are safer than they were before. The clear signage should also be a deterrent”.

Addressing the Growing Threat of Metal Theft from Churches

Since partnering in 2017, SelectaDNA and Trinitas Church Insurance have supported churches in reducing the risk of metal theft through a combination of forensic property marking and tailored insurance cover. Churches can be particularly vulnerable due to often isolated locations and the presence of high-value materials such as lead roofing, lead flashing and copper lightning conductors.

As well as direct financial loss, the theft of roof metals can cause severe secondary damage, including water ingress and long-term structural deterioration - creating disruption for congregations and the wider community.

Leigh Ide, Business Development Executive for Trinitas, said: “SelectaDNA has provided our clients with a practical and cost-effective way to help protect the external metal on their churches for nearly a decade. It is great to mark this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in service to churches for many years to come.”

How SelectaDNA Forensic Marking Helps Protect Churches

SelectaDNA provides a proven deterrent against metal theft, helping churches protect valuable assets and historic fabric. The forensic marking technology helps police quickly identify stolen property and link offenders to crime scenes, while clear warning signage acts as a visible deterrent to potential criminals.

James Brown, Managing Director, SelectaDNAThis is another example of how much we value long termimpactful partnerships that protect the most vulnerable groups in society. SelectaDNA and Trinitas have values which are very closely aligned, and which make us trusted names in our respective industries. We’re absolutely delighted to have protected  1,000 churches with SelectaDNA.

This milestone highlights the continued success of the SelectaDNA and Trinitas partnership and the increasing demand for preventative church security solutions across the UK. Together SelectaDNA and Trinitas remain committed to safeguarding historic buildings, supporting local communities and assisting police efforts to tackle metal theft.
