SelectaDNA and ITS Launch Partnership to Tackle Tool Theft Across the UK
Tool theft continues to be one of the most pressing issues facing tradespeople across the UK, costing the industry millions each year and leaving hardworking professionals without the tools they need to do their jobs. Marking tools with traceable, police-recognised forensic technology is proven to be one of the most effective ways to deter theft, assist recovery, and support prosecutions. That’s why a new partnership between SelectaDNA and ITS, the UK’s top independent tool supplier, is such an important step forward for protecting the UK’s trades community.
SelectaDNA, part of Selectamark Security Systems, is the UK’s leading forensic marking and crime prevention company. Together with ITS, they’ve launched a new initiative aimed at providing accessible, effective tool security to thousands of tradespeople nationwide.
To mark the launch, SelectaDNA and ITS hosted a free tool marking event on 29th April at ITS’s distribution centre in Essex. The event drew a strong turnout of tradespeople and demonstrated a clear demand for proactive solutions to tool theft. Crucially, the event was supported by Shoaib Awan (The Gas Expert) and Stolen Tools UK, both of whom have been instrumental in raising awareness of the tool theft epidemic and mobilising the trades community to take preventative action.
SelectaDNA’s Tool & Equipment Marking Kits are now available to purchase online at www.its.co.uk. Early response has been highly positive, with almost half of the initial stock sold within the first two weeks - underscoring how urgently this kind of solution is needed across the industry.
"We're excited to partner with SelectaDNA and offer their products for sale. The more tradespeople we can encourage to mark their tools, the better the chances of recovering stolen items—and ultimately securing convictions, helping us fight the growing tool theft issue that's seriously affecting our customers' livelihoods."
— Paul Hubbard, Director, ITS"We’re delighted to be working with ITS, a company that shares our commitment to supporting tradespeople and tackling tool theft head-on. This partnership is already off to a strong start, and we look forward to working together to bring better security and peace of mind to professionals across the UK."
— James Brown, Managing Director, Selectamark
With ITS’s trusted position in the industry and SelectaDNA’s proven crime prevention technology, this partnership is already empowering tradespeople to take action - helping them secure their tools, protect their businesses, and reduce the impact of tool theft across the UK.
