Selectamark Security Systems plc supply marking and security products to identify motor vehicles, bicycles, caravans, marine craft, office equipment and all types of assets. We are recommended by insurance companies and security consultants, and work with many police and crime prevention initiatives. Selectamark also operates the BikeRegister and the Secure Asset Register web applications and provides laboratory-based testing (including recovery, analysis and reporting) of SelectaDNA marker DNA material recovered from our products (performed under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation and the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice (FSR CoP)).
To support our commitment to meeting customer, legal, and other relevant obligations, we have established an Integrated Management System (IMS) that encompasses quality management by prioritizing customer satisfaction and product/service excellence, as set out in ISO 9001. Concurrently, it addresses environmental responsibilities set out in ISO 14001, guiding our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. With the integration of the requirements set out in ISO/IEC 27001 and LPS1224, the system robustly safeguards our information assets, ensuring data integrity and security. Lastly, laboratory activities are designed to meet the requirements of the FSR CoP and ISO/IEC 17025 which ensures that that we meet requirements relating to the accuracy and reliability of laboratory processes and emphasises the importance of precision and impartiality.
This IMS is seen as a strategic asset, driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a culture of excellence across all organizational levels. It signifies our unwavering commitment to quality, environmental preservation, data security, and scientific integrity, laying the foundation for sustainable growth and stakeholder trust.
We have a commitment to respond promptly to all sales enquiries and customer requests to ensure that these are dealt with to the satisfaction of the person making the request.
We understand and comply with appropriate legal, regulatory and other requirements applicable to our industry and services provided or to which we subscribe and to our contractual requirements including the asset registration service and laboratory-based testing and reporting.
We are committed to ensure that our laboratory testing is performed to the highest standards and all staff involved in such testing adhere to our formal Code of Conduct for forensic testing. Those staff involved in the Forensic Process are required to read, understand, and sign their compliance to the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Conduct In addition, we are committed to preserving the confidentiality of information arising from Forensic Processes unless the law obliges, a court/tribunal orders, or a customer explicitly authorises its disclosure.
As part of our commitment to the protection of the environment, all employees are encouraged to be aware of environmental considerations; in addition, we have embedded environmental management as an integral part of our selection of suppliers, products, packaging and recycling of waste.
All our employees are fully trained and made aware of their responsibilities relating to the operation and improvement of the IMS as it applies to their roles and responsibilities.
We perform regular risk assessments, at least annually, to identify risks to our information and information systems. Our risk assessments consider the potential consequences of a risk on the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our information and supporting systems. The results of risk assessments are used to determine the scope and nature of controls required to reduce risk to an acceptable level. All risks are assigned an owner with responsibility for managing their risk and for ensuring that the controls implemented to reduce its likelihood and/or impact are effective.
We are committed to the continual improvement of the IMS and have established processes to address weaknesses or failings regardless of how they are identified (e.g. through audit, process reviews, incidents etc.) and to pursue opportunities for improving arrangements (e.g. following feedback from stakeholders, suggestions from staff, reviews of process or control effectiveness, etc). These improvement processes ensure that we address issues in a timely manner and that we ensure any improvements are effective.
